Discuss your engine rebuild
Knocking, an oil warning or a non-running performance car needs a clear repair plan before another engine is ordered. Quick Solution Vehicles LTD assesses performance and prestige petrol and diesel engines in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. Send your registration, engine details and fault description by WhatsApp, or call the workshop to discuss inspection, recovery and rebuild options. We consider factory-spec restoration and suitable uprated builds across the engine ranges below.
JLR SVR & Supercharged V8 / V6
We handle AJ133 5.0-litre supercharged V8 rebuild enquiries for Range Rover Sport SVR, Range Rover/Vogue, Jaguar F-Type and F-Pace SVR applications, alongside the AJ126 3.0-litre supercharged V6. Spun bearings, heavy knocking and low oil pressure need bottom-end and lubrication assessment. A timing rattle must be distinguished from a supercharger-drive or isolator noise. Cooling-pipe leaks, overheating and suspected head-gasket damage also need investigation before deciding the repair scope. We identify the fitted engine and examine the damage before choosing reusable components, machining and the replacement parts route.
BMW M-Power & Performance Petrol/Diesel
Our BMW coverage includes S55 M3/M4 crank-hub and full-rebuild enquiries, S58 G80/G82 engines, B58 applications such as M140i, M240i and M340i, and N54/N55 engines including 135i, 335i and the original N55-powered M2. We also assess S63/N63 4.4-litre V8 BiTurbo engines and high-output N57/B57 diesels. A timing-correlation fault does not by itself prove that a crank hub has moved. Timing, compression, oil condition and internal surfaces need assessment as appropriate. Modified boost levels, software and previous parts changes are relevant to planning a dependable repair.
Mercedes-AMG
We assess M133 and M139 2.0-litre turbo engines used across A45 and CLA45 AMG generations, plus M157 and M177 V8 BiTurbo applications. M177 coverage includes relevant C63, E63 and GLC63 models; earlier AMG models use different engines, so the registration and engine code are essential. A misfire, heavy crankcase pressure, oil warning or coolant loss can involve different parts of the engine. We consider cylinders, pistons, bearings, oil supply and the cooling system alongside any turbo-related damage. The repair is specified for the actual engine, rather than treating every AMG badge as the same unit.
Audi RS / S & VW R
EA888 Gen 3 and Gen 4 2.0 TSI rebuild enquiries cover relevant Golf R, GTI and Audi S3 models. We also assess EA855 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder RS3/TTRS engines and EA839 2.9/3.0 TFSI V6 applications including RS4, RS5 and S4. Bore damage, piston or bearing failure, oil-pressure concerns and overheating require their own checks. Timing noise and poor running can require a separate timing or valvetrain assessment. Factory and modified engines need the same identification discipline: tell us about previous tuning, hardware changes and the circumstances of failure before the rebuild scope is agreed.
Porsche engine rebuild enquiries
M96, M97 and MA1 flat-six enquiries cover relevant 911, Cayman and Boxster applications. We assess suspected bore scoring, oil consumption, knocking and bottom-end damage with the correct checks for the particular engine. IMS-bearing concerns apply to specific earlier designs and should not be assumed across every Porsche generation. Cayenne and Macan engines use other families; send the registration and engine details for those enquiries rather than identifying them as M96/M97/MA1. Cylinder condition, lubrication and cooling history help establish whether repair, machining or another engine route is appropriate.
OEM Spec Restoration vs. Forged Builds
A road-car rebuild can retain factory specification where that suits the vehicle and intended use. For suitable uprated projects, discuss forged pistons, H-beam rods, ARP studs, ACL/King race bearings and an appropriate oil-pump specification before parts are ordered. Those components are options, not a promise that every engine needs the same kit. Bearing clearances, piston-to-bore clearances, ring gaps and fastener procedures must match the selected parts and application. We agree the intended use and scope first, including any required calibration considerations, rather than advertise an unsupported power figure.
Measured assessment, repair scope and final checks
The process starts with the failure history and checks that can safely be performed. Strip-down establishes the condition of the crankshaft, bores, pistons, rods, bearings and head. Reusable parts and any machining are considered against the appropriate specification, followed by an agreed parts and labour scope. Oil contamination and the original failure cause need attention before assembly. Final checks include relevant lubrication, cooling, leaks, timing and running behaviour, with road testing where safe. A premium engine deserves a clear repair plan; a high-value badge does not remove the need to inspect its condition.
Turnaround, warranty and recovery
Typical engine-rebuild turnaround is 1–3 weeks depending on parts availability and internal damage. Our standard engine-rebuild warranty is 6 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first; the written terms for each job confirm what is covered and any variation. The final quotation depends on the condition found and the agreed factory or uprated build scope. If the car is knocking, has a red oil warning or has suffered a timing failure, stop using it and contact the workshop. Recovery for suitable engine work can be arranged at customer cost. We accept debit cards, contactless/mobile NFC and bank transfer.
Major damage needs a sound starting point
Severe block damage can change the parts, machining and replacement options available for a performance engine. Our block damage inspection guide explains why severe casting damage can change the repair plan. Use the Birmingham workshop assessment page to discuss delivery before arranging recovery.

Diagnosis and timing repair options
When the extent of damage is unclear, start with engine diagnostics and mechanical fault finding before agreeing strip-down work. For chain-driven engines with viable repair options, read about timing chain assessment and replacement. A timing repair and a full rebuild require different scopes; the fitted engine and inspection findings determine the route.
Standard warranty: normally 6 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first; exact cover and any job-specific variation are confirmed in writing. Typical turnaround: 1-3 weeks depending on parts availability and damage extent.
Costs are confirmed after inspection and agreement of the repair scope. Recovery for suitable engine work can be arranged at customer cost.

Honestly can’t recommend these guys enough! Super friendly, straight to the point, and didn’t try to upsell me on stuff I didn’t need. They got my car fixed quicker than I expected and it’s been running smooth ever since.

Workshop FAQs
Before you book
Can you rebuild an SVR rather than replace the engine?
We assess AJ133 SVR engines and discuss rebuilding when the castings, internal damage and parts route make it viable. Inspection determines the scope.
Do you offer forged internals?
Suitable builds can be discussed with forged pistons, rods and related components. The specification is agreed around the engine and intended use.
Will a rebuild make my car suitable for any power level?
No power output is guaranteed by a parts list. The complete engine, supporting systems, use and calibration requirements must be considered.
What should I send for a performance engine enquiry?
Send the registration, make/model, engine details, symptoms, whether it runs and any tuning or previous rebuild history.
